It is hard to believe that someone flying over the Grand Canyon for the first time could remark, “What good is it?” Like the Grand Canyon, mathematics has its own kind of beauty and appeal for those who are willing to look.

Welcome to Geometry!
I challenge all of my students to find and appreciate the beauty of mathematics this year as we study Geometry and to begin to recognize how mathematics is represented and displayed in the world around us.
We will be using the Discovering Geometry text by Michael Serra as a guide for our exploration and study this year.
Our text book is available online at keymath.com as long as you know the passcode. This is a wonderful resource
Course Content:
- Introduction: Geometric Art
- Building blocks of Geometry
- Inductive Reasoning (geometric and algebraic)
- Constructions using compass and straight edge
- Triangle, Polygon, & Circle Properties and Proof
- Transformations and Tessellations (a favorite!)
- Area & Volume
- The Pythagorean Theorem and Trigonometry
- Similarity
It's been quite a few years since I taught Geometry but I love the course ... and I hope you do too!
